Gadar 2 Box Office Collection: Second Highest Earning Film

Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Week 4: Sunny Deol’s film, Gadar 2, is on the verge of achieving the title of “second highest-grossing Hindi film”. Released on August 11, the movie has been a blockbuster success at the Indian box office. After nearly a month, it has earned an impressive ₹510 crore. Gadar 2 is closely following Baahubali 2 (Hindi) in terms of box office earnings. Renowned Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh anticipated that the film would secure this position on Friday. He also provided a detailed breakdown of its earnings since its release. In its fourth week, Gadar 2 collected around ₹28 crore.

Taran Adarsh shared on Instagram, “Gadar 2 inches closer to the next milestone: Baahubali 2 Hindi… Will become the SECOND-HIGHEST grossing Hindi film TODAY [Fri].”

Stiff Competition with OMG 2

Gadar 2 faced stiff competition from Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi’s OMG 2 at the box office. While OMG 2 had a decent run, Gadar 2 has shattered numerous records in Bollywood. It achieved the fastest ₹450 crores, recorded the highest earnings in the second weekend, and also had the highest business on Independence Day. Gadar 2 ranks among the top-earning Hindi films, trailing behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion, starring Prabhas.

Gadar 2 Box Office

Receiving mixed reviews from critics, Gadar 2 is a film that doesn’t shy away from emphasizing an “us-versus-them” narrative, portraying those across the border mostly as heartless foes. However, the film occasionally balances this portrayal by introducing benevolent characters, as the father and son duo navigate their way out of Pakistan. Gadar 2 is primarily aimed at three groups: Sunny Deol fans, enthusiasts of the bold Bollywood of the past, and those who resonate with the notion of “hate thy neighbour,” finding it a rallying cry within the confines of a movie theater. The film offers something for each of these audiences, and then some.

A sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Gadar 2 sees Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel reprising their iconic roles of Tara and Sakeena. The film also introduces director Anil Sharma’s son, Utkarsh Sharma.
